Ideal Girls Senior High School mapped out some activities to mark the 2017 World Literacy Day within the school premises. The students had many activities which include showcasing professions, poem recitations, readings and a short playlet.
The Vice-principal of the school started by highlighting the importance of the Literacy day.
The students thereafter had a short presentation of different professions in the society and the need for literacy in attaining such professional level
There was a reading session where Grace read the passage “The Law is an Ass” to the students.
There was a short playlet on the importance and necessity of being literate and educated in today’s world.
While the activities were going on, the students observed with rapt attention.
The students thereafter dismissed into their classrooms to continue with other activities such as spellings, readings and speech making.
The program of the day was organized and put together by the staff of English department in the school- Mrs Okonkwo, Mrs Animashaun and Mrs Ajaegbonwu.
